Pack 19 Weekly Update 10/25/22

Posted on Oct 25 2022 - 4:43pm
Hello Pack 19,

It was great to have a packed hall at last week’s den meeting. Welcome, again, to our new scouts Gabriel Forrest (Lion), Cameron Cheney (Lion), Aiden Johnston (Bear), and Max Payne (Webelo I). Pack 19 wishes you the best and looks forward to help guide you as you begin your scouting journeys.

Congratulations to our AOL den for participating in a Troop 19 event this past Saturday. Our AOLs did a great job and had a lot of fun working on wilderness survival skills (fire starting (without a match), cooking, and pocketknife safety) with the scouts from Troop 19. Thank you to Troop 19 for continuing to support Pack 19 and its scouts as they work toward bridging over to Boy Scouts.

Den Meeting

We have our Halloween party this Thursday, October 27th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The party will be held inside the hall at First Baptist Church (121 Manchester St, Nashua, NH 03064).

Halloween Party

Pack 19’s annual Halloween costume party will be this Thursday, Oct. 27th , starting at 6pm (set-up will begin by 5:15pm). We will have games, music, snacks, desserts, and candy. Our dens will each be planning games to play at the party. We will need volunteers to come early to help set up the games for the party. Hopefully, each den will have at least 1 or 2 volunteers to set up the games that they have planned.

I would also like to invite families to bring a snack or dessert to share at the party.

Here are the games/activities I have each den setting up in Halloween décor for the party:

Loins- Plinko and Throw ball in a cup

Wolves-  Bowling game and Bounce ball game

Webelos-  Nerf target shooting and Put your hand in bowl of worms (spaghetti)

AOL's - Putting game, Corn hole toss, and Whip cream and gummy worms

We will also have small pumpkins for each scout to decorate with stickers and take home.

Costume Contest:

Pack 19 will also have a best costume contest. Scouts and adults will vote for their favorite scout costume and their favorite adult costume.

The three top-voted scout costumes will receive a free kid’s meal voucher to Texas Roadhouse, a prize, and an opportunity to toilet paper their Cubmaster.

The top-voted costume for an adult will receive a $30 gift voucher for Texas Roadhouse.

I encourage everyone to get dressed up in their best costume and come have some scouting fun, Halloween style!

Popcorn Sales (Show and Sells)

Thank you to Peter Gannon, Everett Martin, Harrison Maurhoff, and Connor Graham for finishing off our storefront popcorn sales with a bang! Congratulations to Peter and Everett for reaching the $1000 sales goal. They have earned their dues and a trip to New York! Congratulations to Connor for reaching the $750 sales mark and earning his pack dues. This was our last show and sell for the year. However, we still have popcorn available to sell. Please reach out to our Popcorn Kernel Kathleen Graham (graykatproductions@gmail.com) to set up a wagon sale or other sale. Thank you to everyone who helped with Pack 19’s popcorn fundraiser. Pack 19’s popcorn fundraiser is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Pack 19 relies on the money raised from the popcorn fundraiser to help pay for most of the years activities and events. Your participation and support are what allow us to have so much fun!

A huge “THANK YOU” to Kathleen Graham for managing another successful popcorn fundraiser. As Popcorn Kernel, Kathleen has successfully raised tens of thousands of dollars for Pack 19 and its scout families. Thank you Kathleen! Pack 19 is truly grateful for all you do.

Pack 19 Weekly Update 10/17/22

Posted on Oct 17 2022 - 9:53pm
Hello Pack 19,

We had another productive den meeting last week. I was especially impressed with how the AOL den and Webelo den worked together so easily at the end of the meeting. The AOL’s were tasked with trying to teach other scouts, the Webelos, how to tie a Bowline knot. Without any hesitation and little notice, both the AOL’s and Webelo’s did a great job pairing up, communicating, instructing, demonstrating, listening, and following directions. I believe all the scouts were successful in tying a Bowline knot. Great job, Scouts!

Additionally, we had a beautiful day at our Mobile Base Camp event on Saturday. Scouts and parents alike had a fun time with Archery, Gaga ball, Spike ball, and Soccer Darts. We also enjoyed some delicious food and drinks. Thank you to all our Pack 19 families for bringing food to share. Also, thank you to all those who helped set up and clean up the event. It is a team effort to make events like the Mobile Base Camp happen. Your help and participation is greatly appreciated.

I would also like to give a special thank you to Domino’s, Chick-fil-a, and Mac-n-Choose for donating food for our event. Pack 19 is grateful to have such great support from our local businesses. We support our community and our community supports us.
